“Wicked” was honored with the cinematic and box office achievement award at the Golden Globe Awards. A week after becoming THE top grossing Broadway adaptation in box office history.
Wicked had some serious compeition in the cinematic achievement and box office category, considering that Pixar’s Inside Out 2and Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine, both from Disney’s film empire, grossed north of $1 billion at the global box office to rank as the top-grossing animated movie of all time and the top-earning R-rated pic ever, respectively.
That being said; Wicked did not win any of the other Golden Globe awards that it was nominated for. It did not win for best musical, Or take home any acting awards. Which is a big green bummer. But let’s see what happens at the Oscars.
