“Warm Bodies” Television Commercial Arrives Online

“Warm Bodies” is a film based on the book “I am a Zombie Filled with Love” by author Isaac Marion. Studio Summit Entertainment will release the upcoming horror/romance/comedy on February 1st. To drum up some excitement, Summit has launched a 60 second television spot showcasing this obtuse Romeo and Juliet romance between a human survivor and a very special zombie.  Check it out!

Here is a summary of the plot.

“Warm Bodies” is a poignant tale about the power of human connection. After a zombie epidemic, R (a highly unusual zombie) encounters Julie (a human survivor), and rescues her from a zombie attack. Julie sees that R is different from the other zombies, and as the two form a special relationship in their struggle for survival, R becomes increasingly more human setting off an exciting, romantic, and often comical chain of events that begins to transform the other zombies and maybe even the whole lifeless world.

Some fans are opposed to zombies being romantic and cute. (Unfortunately, the bad mojo of watered down vampires still hangs over Summit’s door like an upside down horseshoe due to the “Twilight” series.) They are looking for something in the same spirit as “Zombieland” or “Shaun of the Dead.” What do you think about “Warm Bodies” chances?

“Warm Bodies” is scheduled to open in theaters on February 1st. The film stars Nicholas Hoult, Teresa Palmer, Dave Franco, Analeigh Tipton, John Malkovich, Rob Corddry, Cory hardrict, Diana Laura, Debbie Wong, Keeva Lynk, Patrick Sabongui, Justin Bradley, Rochelle Okoye, Ruth Chiang, and Dawn Ford.  Jonathan Levine wrote the screenplay based on the novel by Isaac Marion.  Jonathan Levine directs. The film is rated PG-13 (for zombie violence and some language.)
