Yesterday, it was reported that actor Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler) had turned down an offer to replace Tom Hardy as Rick Flag in the highly-anticipated Suicide Squad film. Well the search continues and a new rumor has been made that two more actors are possibly up for the role.
The report comes from Cinemablend, which says that one of their sources that is close to the project, stated that the two actors WB is looking at is Joel Edgerton (Exodus: Gods and Kings) and Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead). Jon Bernthal worked with director David Ayer on Fury.
The same report mentions that that same source had confirmed that Gary Sinise (Forrest Gump), had been added to the Suicide Squad cast. It doesn’t stop there, Cinemablend also mentioned that Joe Manganiello (True Blood), is in contention for the role of Deathstroke but that has not yet been confirmed.
David Ayer’s Suicide Squad will shoot this April and is to be released Aug. 5 2016.
