They Will Kill You was a fun action horror movie. Zazie Beetz stole Atlanta with her charisma and now she kicks ass too. The choreography is energetic with dynamic camera moves capturing a lot in one shot. I wouldn’t want to spoil the wild surprises so I’ll keep this review vague.
The setup of a heroine crawling through the walls and floors is enhanced by 4K darkness surrounding those crawlspaces. She climbs up a corridor in a pure void. She lights an axe on fire and fights with it in the dark.
They Will Kill You has epic sound, too, with the soundtrack pulsing in the rear. Voices surround you in the dark and some of the screams hit the rear channels too. Rain and sprinklers also pour from every channel.
Four behind-the-scenes features show the practical effects and choreography. Seeing the crawlspace set in the middle of a studio is cool. They also address the camerawork pertaining to the snow emitted in the freezer.
