Secret Warriors1

Late September will see the beginning of the third season for ABC‘s hit show Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD. The show keeps getting better and better by slowly incorporating characters from Marvel’s comic book universe. News has it that the Secret Warriors will be introduced on the show. Could these be the characters Marvel will spin-off into their own television series?

So, you are probably wondering, who are the Secret Warriors?

In the Marvel comic books, Nick Fury assembles a superpowered team of agents drawn from Fury’s Caterpillar initiative. The team is made up of individuals with potential abilities who have remained in hiding so they are not compromised by their enemies.

With season three of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD introducing the Secret Warriors, new allies and enemies based on the comic book series will make an appearance on the show. In the aftermath of SHIELD’s battle with Jiaying (Dichen Lachman) and the Inhumans, Director Coulson (Clark Gregg) takes the lead to search the world over for more superpowered individuals in order to assemble an extraordinary new team to deal with threats unlike the world has ever seen.

With Coulson in search of new recruits, ABC and Marvel will team up and give fans a chance to join the Secret Warriors at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. From Thursday, July 9 through Saturday, July 11, SHIELD ambassadors will be roaming the convention to find the most dedicated fans and rewarding them with limited edition “Secret Warriors” pins. You can track the ambassadors on Twitter by following the @AgentsOfSHIELD account.

Lucky fans who find themselves recruited at Comic-Con will be tasked with completing their first mission by posting a photo of themselves wearing the pin to social media using #SHIELDSecretWarriors, after which, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD cast members will select some of their favorite photos, which could get posted to the show’s official Twitter page, @AgentsOfSHIELD. (Terms and conditions here.)

More will be revealed about the Secret Warriors and season three of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD during the “Marvel Television Presents” panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, July 10 from 3:00 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. in Ballroom 20.

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD returns to ABC on Tuesday, September 29th at 9:00 p.m.
