Developer Sabotage Studio and publisher Devolver Digital have released a new gameplay video for The Messenger which shows off over ten minutes of stunning pixel-art gameplay. The opening minutes of the trailer introduces the tutorial which features some of the basic mechanics that players will use throughout the entirety of their journey while also revealing some story details.

You are also able to see the transitions that The Messenger sometimes makes between 8-bit and 16-bit graphics, which is one of the best parts of the experience. If you have yet to see anything about The Messenger, this trailer does a great job of highlighting what makes the game so unique.

The Messenger doesn’t have a specific release date, though it is planned to launch at some point this summer on both the Nintendo Switch and PC.
