Tales from the Crypt was a popular horror show on HBO from 1989 to 1996. It was the type of show that would give you nightmares but you couldn’t help but tune in every week. Well guess what…the nightmares are coming back with the help of director M. Night Shyamalan and TNT!
A new version of the series is coming to TNT as part of a two-hour horror block, which will be curated by Sixth Sense director M. Night Shyamalan. According to Variety, the series will be based on William Gaines’s original EC Comics along with new stories.
TNT president Kevin Reilly said “We’re going to put a variety of different genre shows, some of which may have a weird sense of humor, some of which may be actually downright frightening, some of which may be a unique blend of genres, but all united under the ‘Tales From the Crypt’ brand. Night is definitely going to direct, most likely the first one, and we’ll see how that evolves.”
The Tales from the Crypt episodes will be one hour each and additional series will be added in the coming months.
The horror block will begin fall of 2016.
