Finally, after 25 years we can complete the Super Troopers trilogy with a digital copy.
The troopers have all grown up and moved on to new phases of life. Farva (Kevin Heffernan) is finally getting married. Thorny (Jay Chandrasekhar) is still swinging but his marriage didn’t work out. Foster (Paul Soter) and Ursula (Marisa Coughlan) have also broken up. O’Hagen (Brian Cox) has retired but still hangs around. There’s a new rookie (Andrew Dismukes) who they train in road pranks.
It’s mostly similar shenanigans but these movies come so far apart it’s a welcome respite of silliness. Farva’s wedding and bachelor party provide a bunch of new scenarios, and the gang has to foil a modern crime.
Filmed on location in Massachusetts, the New England roads are lush with forest greenery. The Telegu influence brings more bright colors to the wedding festivities.
The highlight of the five minute bloopers reel is BCox mumbling about his strudel line. A two minute set tour is Soter doing bits with all the departments.
Two deleted scenes include a good extended Farva prank and a small additional bit of Nat Faxon reacting to the Indian pepper.
