‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ On Pace To Beat ‘Avatar’

Records continue to fall as Star Wars The Force Awakens reaches $1 billion in a record time. As it stands now, the film has grossed $545 million domestically and $546 million internationally bringing the total to $1.090 billion. This massive number excludes China where the movie opens on Jan. 9th.

The Force Awakens seems to be on pace to beat James Cameron’s Avatar, the all time Box Office Champ at almost $750 billion in domestic box-office returns. In comparison, after ten day of both film’s domestic releases, Avatar was at $212 Million and The Force Awakens at $544Million. So, unless the Force loses steam, The Force Awakens will become the new box office king.
