Marvel made a huge announcement today, which got the whole comic world talking. At a press event at Midtown Comics in New York, Marvel announced that the Marvel Universe and the Ultimate Universe will be no more when they collide in May, to create Battleworld, a mashup of different Marvel realities. Battleworld will be the Marvel Universe during and after the Secret Wars series.
Now what does Stan Lee, who created heroes such as Spider-Man, The Hulk, Fantastic Four, Thor, Iron Man etc., think about this announcement?
“It’s probably good,” Lee said just minutes after Marvel’s announcement. “Anything they do that’s unexpected and different usually captures the attention of the fans. People will want to follow it to see what happens and where it will lead. Marvel cannot keep doing the same stories over and over again. You always have to come up with new angles and new approaches to things. I think it’s probably a good idea. It sounds intriguing to me.”
Do you guys and gals think this change will be a good thing?
