My Thoughts

I give Skyscraper a B+.

Skyscraper follows Will Swayer (Dwayne Johnson), a former FBI Hostage Rescue Team Leader who was injured during a Hostage situation that went wrong.  Years later, Sawyer now evaluates security systems in Skyscrapers, particularly the tallest building in China, The Pearl.  When terrorists invade the building and set it ablaze, Will Swayer must enter the building, rescue his family, and anyone else left in the building above the fireline.

I know what you are thinking.  It reminds you of a certain film that was released in the 80s surrounding a building attacked by Terrorist.  For one, this film is completely different.  Yes, it has similar circumstances but it didn’t remind me of that film one bit.

That being said, I really enjoyed this film.  Will Sawyer is crazy.  He’s up 98 or so floors above the ground hanging off the edge of The Pearl.  Not to mention he jumped from a crane to the floor of the building!  That man was fearless.  But to be honest with you anyone with the mindset of saving their Wife and Kids will be fearless.  They’ll do anything to get them back to safety.  The Pearl (Skyscraper) was amazing.  I don’t think I would want to live there but the view would be amazing.  The building was definitely technologically advanced. We are so dependant on technology nowadays but I’m not sure if I would want my building to be dependant on it.  How can you open a door if something goes wrong?  You can bypass it but a good old manual locking and closing door is good for me.

This film is a fun ride full of action, terrifying stunts, amazing cinematography, and awesome characters.

Catch Skyscraper out on 4k Ultra HD, Blu-ray, & Digital October 9th!
