Skybound Gives Update On Telltale’s The Walking Dead Final Season

It was only a short while ago that the news would break that Telltale Games was shutting down it’s doors. The shock that rang through the gaming community was loud as many were left confused as to how a company with connections to some of the largest IP’s managed to disband out of nowhere. One of the largest questions concerned the state of some of the titles in development which were met with the somber answer that all development on every title were to be stopped. In the midst of all this was their crown jewel series The Walking Dead.

While all of the news of Telltale broke, many were wondering what would happen to Clementine as the season was already in the middle of the release. After much uproar and concern from fans Skybound Games responded with the news that they have in fact picked up the series and the Walking Dead will finish it’s season while giving Clementine the ending fans were hoping to see. Since then, no other update has been made publicly until today as Skybound gave an update on the process of producing the final episodes. Their blog reads:

Thank you for your patience while we worked with Telltale to take control of TELLTALE’S THE WALKING DEAD. It’s been a ton of work logistically and legally to get us to a place where we’re able to roll up our sleeves and get to the actual work. After Telltale had to stop development on The Walking Dead, the game was, unfortunately, unable to be worked on and hence the release dates of Episodes 3 and 4 have been delayed. But, we’re excited to let you know that many of the talented, passionate team members who originally worked on the game are resuming development efforts today!
