Most comic book fans are not too happy about the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot so far. I being one of them. Everything from switching writers, to the casting, to the story, all seems off to say the least. Now that Reg. E Cathey has been cast as Dr. Storm, it seems as though Sue Storm may be the adopted one in the family.
A writer of Cinema Blend was able to ask Simon Kinberg who wrote the reboot script, if Sue Storm would indeed be adopted into the Storm family.
Kinberg replied:
“I’m not supposed to talk about it, but Reg E. is playing Dr. Storm, so … you know. The math on that is what people will make.”
So that answer really doesn’t help too much but we can assume the obvious that Sue will be adopted into the Storm family at some point in time within the franchise. Or it’s possible that Dr. Storm marries Sue’s mother already after Johnny and Sue are born, in which Sue then decides to change her last name. Whatever the case may be, this is another curveball thrown to all comic book fans as we assumed that Johnny Storm aka Human Torch (played by Michael B. Jordan), would be the one adopted into the Storm family. But then again, we all know what happens when we assume.
Reg E. Cathey will join the cast of Fantastic Four which includes Kate Mara as Sue Storm aka Invisible Woman, Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm aka Human Torch, Miles Teller as Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic, Jaime Bell as Ben Grimm aka The Thing and Tobey Kebbell as Victor Von Doom aka Dr. Doom.
