Sega Dreamcast games could be coming to the Nintendo Switch

Could Sega Dreamcast games be coming to the Nintendo Switch? Sega would love to make that a reality including M2 president Naoki Horii and Sega AGES supervisor Yosuke Okunari.

Sega Ages launched on the Nintendo Switch very recently with Sonic the Hedgehog and Lightening Force (better known as Thunder Force IV) and while there are quite a few games planned for release Naoki Horii recently stated they want to work on both Sega Saturn and Dreamcast games but didn’t go into much detail about that.

Sega recently held a poll asking fans in Japan what games they would like to see released and the number 1 game requested was the Jet Set Radio series followed by Shenmue, other requested titles including the Shining series (Shining Force, Shining into Darkness) coming in at number 5, Puyo Puyo at number 8, NIGHTS into dreams at number 12, Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 at number 18 and Sonic 3 and Knuckles at number 22.

There are quite a few titles I would love to see make their way to the Switch, it’s currently unknown if Sega plans to simply emulate some of these titles if they make it to the Switch or if they plan on making a type of remake since they have access to the original source code. We’ve seen M2 make changes to certain games by adding a new feature or two and for some of these older games seeing something new not available on any other version would be great.

Either way, I look forward to seeing Sega Dreamcast and even Sega Saturn games make their way to the Nintendo Switch in the future, I’d love to see Skies of Arcadia, Shining Force 3, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Magic Knight Rayearth, and Project Justice released just to play them all over again on the go!

What Sega games would you like to see released on the Switch?
