Seth McFarlane’s 2012 runaway hit comedy Ted wouldn’t have been nearly as good without actor Sam Jones, who is best known for portraying the title character in the 1980 cult film Flash Gordon. Jones has stated in a recent interview that he has signed on to be in the third Ted film which is currently in the works. The highly anticipated sequel Ted 2 will arrive in theaters on June 26th.
Jones was asked about his new documentary, Life After Flash, and how his celebrity status has been reinvigorated by Ted. This is what he revealed.
“Yeah, we’re doing that documentary. I’ve got two other projects in development and of course, Ted 2 comes out June 26. I just signed on for Ted 3. We’re moving onwards and upwards, it’s wonderful. It’s a great adventure at this time in my life.”
He went on to say.
“We haven’t filmed Ted 3 yet,” which is understandable. However, Jones did comment on Ted 2 by saying, “It’s funny, if not funnier,” (than the first Ted.)
Here’s the storyline for the Ted sequel.
Newlywed couple Ted (the voice of Seth MacFarlane) and Tami-Lynn (Jessica Barth) want to have a baby, but in order to qualify to be a parent, Ted will have to prove he’s a person in a court of law.
Ted 2 will open in theaters on June 26th. The film stars Liam Neeson, Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried, Morgan Freeman, Patrick Warburton, Seth MacFarlane, Dennis Haysbert, Lexi Atkins, Jessica Barth, Michael Dorn, Nana Visitor, Sam J. Jones, Martin Klebba, Richard Schiff, Cocoa Brown, Kimberly Howe, Jeffrey Corazzini, Maggie Geha, Bill Smitrovich, Jenny Robinson, Ron Canada, Tina Grimm, Vanessa Vander Pluym, Philip Casnoff and Elizabeth Pollard. Seth MacFarlane, Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild wrote the screenplay, while Seth MacFarlane directs.
