Mark Ruffalo is the latest actor to be named to the line of one hit feature film Hulk actors.  Ruffalo will play both Dr. Bruce Banner and the Hulk in the Avengers feature film. TV’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s creator Joss Whedan will direct.  The film will use the same motion-capture technology for the Hulk character that was present in James Cameron’s Avatar.  Ruffalo commented that he would portray the character of Bruce Banner closer to the Bill Bixby version from the hit television series, which he found to be very sympathetic.

The actors who will round out the rest of the Avengers cast are:

Robert Downey, Jr. (Iron Man)
Scarlett Johansson (The Black Widow)
Chris Evans (Captain America)
Chris Hemsworth (Thor)
Clark Gregg (S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Phil Coulson)
Samuel L. Jackson (Head of S.H.I.E.L.D. Nick Fury)
Don Cheadle (War Machine)
Tom Hiddelson (Thor villain, Loki)

The Avengers is slated for a May 4th, 2012 theatrical release.
