The famous “Route 29 Batman” who drove his very own “Batmobile” in full costume to visit sick children, was struck and killed by a car on a west Maryland highways. Authorities had this to say.
Lenny B. Robinson, 51 — known as the “Route 29 Batman” for the road where he was pulled over for driving his car with Batman symbol license plates — was hit Sunday night after experiencing engine trouble, according to Maryland State Police. Robinson was standing in the fast lane of I-70 to check his engine when he and his custom Lamborghini were struck by a Toyota Camry.
Father of three, who dressed in full costume, gained attention in 2012 after he was pulled over on Route 29 in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Robinson was a businessman from Baltimore County and visited sick children In hospitals and lifted spirits. He ultimately spent thousands of dollars from his own money on Batman-related items.
