According to The Hollywood Reporter, Desperado director Robert Rodriguez is taking on directing duties for Warner Bros.’ Jonny Quest live-action adaptation.
Rodriguez is said to also be rewriting the script with Terry Rossio, on a script that was originally penned by Dan Mazeau.
Jonny Quest was a Hanna-Barbera cartoon which ran from 1964-1965. The cartoon only ran for one season do to the cost of production. It had been resurrected a couple of times in the 1980’s and in the 90’s.
The Jonny Quest live-action film was first being developed in 2007, where some actors were said to be in place. The names attached to the early draft were Zac Efron as Jonny Quest and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Bannon.
