The action/comedy/thriller “Red” hit movie theaters in October of 2010. The tongue-in-cheek film went on to earn over $186 million worldwide along with a plethora of fans. Now, the seniors are ready to come out of retirement once again for the sequel appropriately titled “Red 2.” RED is an acronym-it’s a term used for CIA pensioners considered, “Retired, Extremely Dangerous.” Entertainment Weekly posted this photo of actors Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, and Mary-Louise Parker casually strolling away from an oil drum fire dressed in clothes a dead man would not be seen wearing. Check it out!
Director Dean Parisot (“Galaxy Quest”) had this to say about the geriatric spy film.
”All of those great Bond and Bourne movies you’ve seen, we go into that world and have those kind of set pieces. It’s just our characters that are completely ludicrous.”
“Red 2” is scheduled for an August 2, 2013 release. The film stars Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker, Helen Mirren, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Catherine Zeta-Jones, David Thewlis, Neal McDonough, Lee Asquith-Coe, Byung-hun Lee, Paul Hopkins, Garrick Hagon, Nathalie Buscombe, Patrick Kerton, and Denis Khoroshko. Erich and Jon Hoeber (“Battleship”) wrote the screenplay, which is based on the DC graphic novel by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner. Dean Parisot directs.
