TMZ has reported that the N.W.A. biopic has had a real drive by shooting on the set of the film “Straight Outta Compton.”
Eyewitnesses say that gunfire broke out in front of the Compton Courthouse, while the crew was setting up to film. Apparently, some neighborhood guys flashed some gang signs at a passing car.
One civilian was hit by gunfire and collapsed next to the set, but survived. None of the cast or crew were injured.
Filming will still continue in Compton and it’s said to be in a “rough” part, where the filming will take place next.
The biopic follows the “most dangerous rap group” as they came together in the streets of Compton in the mid-80’s, to the groups demise in the 90’s.
Starring in the film are O’Shea Jackson Jr who will play his father Ice Cube, Aldis Hodge as MC Ren, Jason Mitchell as the late Eazy-E, Corey Hawkins as Dr. Dre and Neil Brown Jr as DJ Yella.
The film is set for release on Aug. 14, 2015.
