Early days of shooting for Christopher Nolan’s “Batman: The Dark Rises” were filmed on location in a remote part of India. Actor Josh Pence was on set portraying a younger version of villain Ra’s al Ghul.  Pictures from the set revealed the infamous Lazarus Pit.  As for the character of Ra’s al Ghul, he can be resurrected with the assistance of the mysterious chemical concoction inside the pit.  This ability has gained him the nickname “The Immortal.”In 2005’s “Batman Begins” Ra’s al Ghul was apparently killed in the cataclysmic train crash near the end of the film.  Will Ra’s al Ghul plague the Batman and battle for Gotham City’s soul once again?

A Website reported that actor Liam Neeson was in London shooting a scene for the Batman film by reprising his role as villain Ra’s al Ghul.  If this is true, it would be director Christopher Nolan’s first foray into the supernatural in the Dark Knight universe.  Fans will be excited to see the League of Shadows once more with their nihilistic leader at the forefront.  At least, we can hope this will be the case.

Currently shooting in London, “The Dark Knight Rises” will be released on July 20th, 2012.  The film will star Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Juno Temple, Josh Pence, Josh Stewart, Nestor Carbonell, Alon Abutbul, Liam Neeson, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.  Christopher and Jonathan Nolan wrote the screenplay, from a story by Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer.  Christopher Nolan directs.
