Priscilla Blu-ray Review: Behind Graceland

Sofia Coppola’s adaptation of Priscilla Presley’s memoir, Elvis and Me, was one of the best films of the year. Now on DVD and Blu-ray, bonus features take us behind the scenes of the recreation of Priscilla’s life with Elvis.

“Brushed with Beauty” is a 10 minute studio feature with Coppola, Cailee Spaeny and Jacob Elordi. They discuss their characters through Priscilla’s point of view and how they brought her evolving fashion, hair and makeup to life.

Liv McNeil directed a 27-minute behind the scenes feature. She interviews Coppola and gets good answers. Coppola speaks with Priscilla herself and that’s included. McNeil shows some of Spaeny in hair and makeup, and Coppola with her daughters on the set multitasking parenting and filmmaking.

Both features give substantial background to a profound quality film.
