Predator Badlands takes us to two hostile planets in 4K. They are both so colorful that even caves don’t go full deep shadow. When Tessa (Elle Fanning) investigates the crashed ship, it gives her a nice silhouette. The squad of clones at the base too.
Surround envelops too with ships flying by and Yautja weapons whirring. The sound really comes alive with all the flora and fauna of Genna surrounding Dek. It captures the whir of his flips too.
Deleted scenes show more alternative encounters with native Genna life in previs animatic form. Tessa has another action scene too. Some have Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi’s face still visible because they never finished the shots.
Four behind the scenes features run five or six minutes each. It’s cool to see Elle Fanning wearing blue leggings and how they lifted her legs so he wasn’t just dragging her. It’s nice to see these shots in practical environments to show the work the actors put in and how CGI can work when it’s in concert with location shooting.
