Possible Female Lead in “Transformers 4”

This is barely newsworthy, but some scant information has been circulating around the Hollywood casting wheelhouse in regards to the next Transformers film. Apparently director Michael Bay may cast a female as the lead. This would be a first for Bay whose many other films featured tough, macho men as protagonists, while females were relegated to being arm candy. Here’s what was posted at Spoiler TV.

“It looks like “Transformers 4” will have 2 new leads.

The new female lead that they are looking for is a high school senior and her boyfriend a Texas racing driver.”

These are the same characters which were cast for the first Transformers film in 2007. The only difference is Shia LaBeouf was the high school senior, while Megan Fox portrayed the gear head girlfriend who was from Pasadena. Only one comment can be made regarding this casting news, there must have been a lot of thought put into this decision. What will Michael Bay and the executives at Paramount Pictures think of next?

“Transformers 4” is scheduled to open in theaters on June 27th, 2014. No actors have been cast at this time. Ehren Kruger wrote the screenplay, while Michael Bay directs.
