Mission-_Impossible_5_Set_4Deadline is reporting that Paramount Pictures has moved up the release date for Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible 5 from December 25th to July 31st, 2015. The studio seems confident to release the sequel at the end of Summer 2015 instead of going against Disney’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens in December.

Tom Cruise will return as IMF agent Ethan Hunt with Jack Reacher‘s director Christopher McQuarrie at the helm. The new summer release date puts Mission Impossible 5 just two weeks after Marvel’s Ant-Man hits theaters and one week after Warner Bros. Pan and Sony’s Pixels is released. The biggest competition for box office returns may come from Fox sinces Mission Impossible 5 opens in theaters just one week before The Fantastic Four.

Mission Impossible 5 is set to open in theaters July 31st, 2015.
