The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III is finally coming to the West but it won’t be by XSEED Games who worked on the first two games, instead NIS America will be handling the localization with the game set to release on the PlayStation 4 this Fall.
Set two years after the events of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II, Rean has become an instructor at the Thors Branch Campus, a newly-opened academy that quickly finds itself thrust onto the national stage. It is here that he takes the lead of a brand new Class VII, and must guide a new generation of heroes into an unknown future. Though all is calm now, the nefarious Ouroboros organization continues to weave a dark plot that could engulf the entire continent in war…or perhaps something even more sinister.
It is a bit of a surprise that XSEED Games isn’t handling the localization for the third title especially as they will be releasing Collector’s Edition of Cold Steel & Cold Steel II on the PlayStation 4 with the first release scheduled for next month.
NIS America has announced that it will release The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III Limited Edition which includes a copy of the game, an artbook, soundtrack cd, postcard set, and a Mishy Plushie which is available for pre-order for $99.99.
Here is hoping that NIS America learns from their mistakes from Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana.
