Bakery owner and operator Robert Hansen was well liked by his neighbors and garnered fame as a local hunting champion in Anchorage, Alaska. He was also a notorious and ruthless serial killer. Hansen raped and assaulted over 30 Alaskan women. He is responsible for the murder of at least 17, ranging in age from 16 to 41. Convicted in 1988, he is currently serving a 461 year sentence for four of the murders in Spring Creek Correctional Center in Seward, Alaska.
Now Emmet/Furla Films and Amber Entertainment have released their first trailer for the feature film thriller “The Frozen Ground” starring John Cusack as the infamous murderer Robert Hansen. Based on actual events, an Alaskan State Trooper partners with a young woman who escaped the clutches of Hansen to bring the killer to justice.
Nicolas Cage will star opposite Cusack in the role of Alaskan State Trooper Sergeant Jack Halcombe (based on real life Alaskan Detective Glenn Flothe,) while Vanessa Hudgens will play the part of stripper and assault victim Cindy Paulson.
“The Frozen Ground” will hit theaters on November 30th, and stars John Cusack, Nicolas Cage, Vanessa Hudgens, Katherine LaNasa, Dean Norris, 50 Cent, Radha Mitchell, Jodi Lyn O’Keefe, Kevin Dunn, Kurt Fuller, and Gia Mantegna. The film is written and directed by Scott Walker (“Ordan’s Forest.”)
