Anime Expo somehow got a lot more amazing with the recent announcement that this years convention will host the world premiere of the upcoming My Hero Academia film: Two Heroes. Along with the announcement, a press release revealed more details of the screening including the running time, special guests, and more.

As a special kick-off to the film’s theatrical marketing, Funimation Films, Toho and Anime Expo have partnered together to present the subtitled world premiere of the film at next month’s AX 2018 in Los Angeles, Calif. “MY HERO ACADEMIA: Two Heroes” will screen on Thursday, July 5, 2018, at 12:30 pm (90-minute runtime) in Main Event Hall B of the Los Angeles Convention Center. Admission is free to all Anime Expo 2018 badge holders with seating on a first come, first served basis.

The film will take place between seasons 2 and 3 as the students of U.A finish their finals and prepare for summer training camp. Deku and All Might are invited to a traveling island but not everything is a vacation. The island eventually gets crowded with villains and it’s up to them to save the day.

Not only will there be a screening but an all star guest panel featuring the Japanese voice actors(Daiki Yamashita – voice of Deku, Mirai Shida – voice of Melissa Shield, and Katsuhisa Namase – voice of David Shield) and American voice actors(Justin Briner – voice of Deku and Colleen Clinkenbeard – ADR director and voice of Yaoyorozu)  will be present following the event to talk about the film.

After the screening at Anime Expo, My Hero Academia: Two Heroes will be released this fall in Japan, US, and Canada.
