Hey gamers! Hang on to your butts! MORTAL KOMBAT II, one of the more anticipated fall releases in terms of video game genre movie IP, is moving from a release in October 2025 to now opening in theaters May 15, 2026. And that’s supposedly because the film has tested so well they wanted to move it out of the crowded October corridor to give it room to breathe in more box office dollars. As a potential Summer blockbuster.
So is that good news for fans, or a smokescreen? I guess if we hear about re-shoots, the latter may be true. But we’re hoping for the best!
