If you’re a Mortal Kombat fan, get ready to return to over-the-top gore. Last night, developer Netherealm Studios surprised fans during The Game Awards with the announcement of the next main installment in the series, Mortal Kombat 11.

Not much is known about the game since we just got an announcement trailer, but it’s safe to say that the game looks fantastic, even if all we got were some awesome cinematics, which is probably thanks to the game’s new engine. According to Netherealm, you’ll be able to customize your character in ways that haven’t been done before, so fans have something else to look forward to.

Mortal Kombat 11 is set to hit store shelves on April 23, 2018 and will be available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

You can check out an all new gore-filled trailer below.
