‘Mob Wives’ Star, Big Ang Has Died After a Battle with Cancer

Angela Raiola, known as Big Ang from VH1’s reality series Mob Wives, has died after a battle with stage 4 cancer. She was 55.

Her rep released a statement saying Ang passed at 3:01 AM ET. She was surrounded by family members at an Manhattan hospital.

Just hours earlier, Big Ang’s reps had to clear up false reports about Big Ang passing away Wednesday evening.

Big Ang had recently been in the news after her throat cancer returned in December. After a surgery in March of last year, which removed a tumor from her throat, Ang underwent the same procedure just 2 months later, for the either side of her throat. After months of treatment, the cancer turned to stage 4 cancer and spread to her brain.

Earlier this week, Big Ang recently spoke about her ordeal on Dr. Oz.

Big Ang was known as the peacemaker on the reality series, which centered around relatives of former mobsters.

She is survived by her sister, Janine Detore, her two children, Raquel and Anthony Donfrio, and six grandchildren.
