Michael Bay who is coming off of directing his latest film, 13 Hours:The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, has recently confirmed that he will return to helm Transformers 5.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, the directer not only confirmed that he will direct Transformers 5 but also that it will be his last Transformers film.
The middle-[budget] movie is basically gone. They just want these big movies. Transformers, I still have a great time. It’s fun to do a movie that 100 million people will see. But this is the last one. I have to pass the reins to someone else.
Bay was attached as producer of the film up until now. Transformers: Age of Extinction, was supposed to act as a reboot for the franchise, hiring Mark Wahlberg as lead actor,and it grossed over $1 billion world-wide.
