Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 + 2 set for release on July 24th

Back in December, Capcom revealed that they have some big plans for the Mega Man series in 2018 which included a brand new Mega Man game, Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 + 2 heading to the Nintendo Switch and that Mega Man X fans will be able to enjoy all eight X games.

Today, Capcom released a new trailer showing off Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 + 2 which is set to release on July 24th. The Mega Man X Legacy Collection will include Mega Man X to Mega Man X4 while the Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 will include Mega Man X5 to Mega Man X8.

Both Collections will include a variety of extra content which includes, a filter option so you can play the game with slightly improved visuals, a music and art gallery that includes various trailers and promotional videos from each X game, the “Day of Sigma” OVA which was originally included in Maverick Hunter X for the PSP and even a brand new mode known as “X Challenge” where you face off against tow Mavericks at the same time.

For the Nintendo Switch, Capcom will release the Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 + 2 as a bundle for $39.99 which includes a physical cartridge for Mega Man X Legendary Collection and a digital download code for Mega Man X Legendary Collection 2. For the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, you will be able to buy each collection digitally or a physical release for $19.99 with a retail combo set for release for $39.99.

Set in the year 21XX, Mega Man X builds on the groundwork of the original Mega Man games while taking a slightly darker and more serious approach to storytelling in a future world filled with Reploids, human-like androids with independent thought and free will, and Mavericks, Reploids that have turned against society to cause harm and destruction. While retaining the unique abilities of his predecessor to claim the weapons of his defeated opponents, X has a number of new capabilities, including the ability to slide down or jump off of walls, and equip powerful new armor pieces to augment his abilities.

Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 + 2 will be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Steam.

Now if we could only get both Mega Man Xtreme Gameboy Color games and Mega Man X Command Missions, it would be the ultimate collection featuring the entire Mega Man X series.
