Bradley and the boys from Sublime are getting a biopic from Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence!
Deadline is reporting “A new film on rock band Sublime is in development Sony Pictures with The Hunger Games helmer Francis Lwrence attached to direct. Sony’s 3000 Pictures, Chernin Entertainment,, Dave Kaplan and Peter Paterno are developing the film…. Executive producers are Sublime band members Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson, Troy Nowell and Jakob Nowell on behalf of Bradley Nowell’s estate”
Sublime along with No Doubt are some of the most influential punk/ska bands to come out of the Long Beach area in the early 90’s. Bradley Nowell tragically died of an overdose on May 25, 1996.
It’s going to be interesting to see who will be cast to play members of Sublime and other local punk bands from the LBC scene.
