What do you get when you throw creative Pixar-like art design, cute-as-can-be little creatures, and the power of next gen consoles? The answer is named “Kena: Bridge of Spirits”.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits is described by Playstation as:
“A story-driven action adventure with a stunning visual aesthetic combining exploration with fast-paced combat. Players find and grow a team of charming spirit companions called the Rot, enhancing their abilities and creating new ways to manipulate the environment. Kena: Bridge of Spirits seamlessly blends action and narrative into an unforgettable experience. Travel with Kena, a young Spirit Guide on a quest to uncover the mysterious story surrounding the demise of the village.”
The creatures in the trailer (Rot) seem to function as a minion-like element, something similar to that of Pikmin. This should lean the game into some interesting decision making, as you are trying to save these creatures as well.
While no release window was given, the Ember Lab’s official website details that the game will release on PS4, PS5, and the Epic Game Store.
If the visuals and studio sound familiar, you will probably remember their fan-made animation titled “Terrible Fate” centered around the Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask.
Stay tuned to Nuke the Fridge for more updates on Kena, and Ember Lab.
