He’s back! Comedian David Spade reprises his role as the mullet wearing, trailer trash redneck Joe Dirt in Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser. This is a sequel to the 2001 cult film Joe Dirt. So after all these years, why bring the character back?
“I’ve always liked the movie a lot,” Spade says. “But I also go by feedback from people I see or [what they write] on Twitter and Instagram. Besides Tommy Boy, this is the most talked-about movie for me. After 10 years of people still asking about a sequel, we finally found a good way to do it…. Joe is a fun character to play. I’m stoked for everyone to see it.”

Here’s the storyline for the film.
Joe Dirt is a happy family man — who finds himself transported back in time to the recent past and becomes rich because he knows the future. Missing his loved ones in the present, he begins a journey to get back to them.
“Joe ‘Keeps on keepin’ on,’” Spade tells EW. “He’s married now and doing his best, but things don’t all go perfectly for him, as usual. Like he says in the movie, when he gets a setback, ‘I just keep getting stupider.’”
Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser will premiere and stream on the website Crackle this summer. The film stars David Spade, Brittany Daniel, Christopher Walken, Dennis Miller, Adam Beach, Mark McGrath, Patrick Warburton, Mariana Paola Vincent, Susie Abromeit and Jasmine Waltz. David Spade wrote the screenplay, while Fred Wolf (The House Bunny) directs.
