Last week, Bandai Namco Entertainment released Taiko no Tatsujin: Nintendo Switch Version! in Japan. First announced back in March as part of a Japanese Nintendo Direct, the game includes various songs from Pokemon Sun & Moon, Dragon Ball Z, Splatoon 2, and Super Mario Odyssey and I guess it was a good thing I didn’t have a chance to order one this week as it was announced that it is coming to the West on November 2nd.
Better yet, it won’t be only one Taiko no Tatsujin game but instead two as Bandai Namco Entertainment announced that it will also be releasing Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum Session for the PlayStation 4. Originally released in Japan back in October of last year, the game includes songs from series like Attack on Titan, Dragon Ball, and One Piece. No word if the Taiko Drum controller will be released but we would be surprised if it didn’t.
Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun will be the name of the Nintendo Switch version of the game. Player’s will be able to select their avatar and use the Switch Joy-Con’s motion controls to drum along to various songs.
The biggest question is what songs might be removed or added in order to attract interest in the West. We’ll keep you updated as new information is announced!
