It seems that we now have an idea of the future for FromSoftware after an interview with the president Hidetaka Miyazaki on 4gamer. During the interview, Mr. Miyazaki talks about a few topics including the upcoming title by FromSoftware, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and its differentiation from previous titles such as Dark Souls and Bloodborne:
Mr. Miyazaki: It is a different element from Dark Souls and Bloodborne, and there are some other surprised points, but one is change of operation system. In fact from recent software from Mr. Software adopted the operation in the same format, Sekiro has changed a lot. In particular, I think that it is great that the location of the avoidance button that is frequently used is changed, but what kind of intention is it?
Included in this interview was quite possibly one of the most pressing questions that fans have been asking for months and it’s the future beyond Sekiro. Mr. Miyazaki explained how the staff at FromSoft are currently split into multiple teams to tackle multiple projects at once:
Mr. Miyazaki: Well, once we’ve arranged and talked about lines, there are 3.5 lines that were in motion since then. 0.5 is Déraciné, 1.0 is Sekiro, and the remaining 2.0 is an unpublished title. Regarding “Dark Souls Remastered” and “Metal Wolf Chaos XD”, we are asking the outside company, so it is not counted in 3.5 of them.
As for when we will see those titles down the line:
Mr. Miyazaki: It is not the timing to talk about details, but I think both are like us. I think that you will receive some more time, but I think you can tell everyone in succession from what it was in shape.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will be coming to Windows, PS4, and Xbox One on March 22, 2019.
