My Thoughts

I give the Instant Family Blu-ray a B+.

Pete and Emily (Mark Wahlberg & Rose Byrne) decided that they wanted to start a family by choosing to adopt a child.  When they discover that their ideal child has 2 other siblings, they end up over their head.  But, in the end, they learn a lot about themselves and how much they truly care about these children.

I really enjoyed this movie.  It’s a touching and heartwarming film that makes you realize that there are a lot of children in need of a family.  Maybe they have this rebellious attitude, behavioral problems, or even they are just clumsy but in the end, they just need someone to love them and be there for them.

There are many things I enjoyed about this film.  Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne had great chemistry on screen.  They bounced off of one another and you felt that they were these loving people that were by no means perfect.  They had no idea what they were getting themselves into but in the end, they never gave up on the children.  The kids in this film were hilarious.  I especially like Juan (Gustavo Quiroz).  He is super clumsy and was always hurting himself on something.  Lizzie (Isabela Moner) stood out of the crowd, one of the reasons why Pete & Emily choose to adopt her.  She was always looking after her siblings and of course, being the rebellious teenager she was.  She just wanted to be with her Mom but realized Pete and Emily was the place she needed to be.  We can’t forget Lita (Julianna Gamiz).  She was a little monster at the beginning but you can’t resist how cute she is in this film.

This is a great family film with a few laughs along the way.  I usually don’t like comedies but this one hit the spot!
