Ikaruga is coming to the Nintendo Switch on May 29

Bullet Hell, thy name is Nintendo Switch! Japanese developer Treasure and publisher Nicalis revealed that it will be releasing bullet hell shooter Ikaurga to the Nintendo Switch eShop on May 29th with a price tag of $15.

Released in 2001 in Arcades, Ikaruga would later be ported to the Sega Dreamcast, Nintendo Gamecube, Xbox 360 and Steam. Luckily, is going to be the perfect home for the Nintendo Switch since the console can be positioned vertically giving you that perfect arcade experience.

In Ikaruga, you must shoot down enemies while surviving a onslaught of bullets that appear on screen. You can do this by switching the polarity of your ship between white and black. While your ship is in black polarity, you can absorb black bullets fired by enemies and store its power to use for a special attack, while dealing twice the damage to white enemies. If your ship however is hit by and white bullets in this state you will be destroyed and vice versa if you are in white polarity.
