Gamescom 2013 will be held at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany from August 21st to the 25th. The first day is an Industry Day with access granted only to Vendors, Media, and a select few public attendees. The remainder of the event is open to the general public.
Why should we care about a video game conference going on halfway around the world??? Simple, it will be the last opportunity for Microsoft and Sony to show off and demo their next-generation consoles as well as of some of their launch titles. Best of all, attendees will have the opportunity to play the demo version of the next-generation console games on display.
Microsoft may have has recovered some lost ground in the Next Generation Console Race by reversing some of their unpopular Xbox One policies, but they will need to have a strong showing, especially in the area of exclusives, to catch up with the momentum that Sony established at E3.
