Funimation has announced their first ever anime convention will be an all digital event featuring the panels and activities one would expect from a public con.
This is happening. Our first convention, and it’s all virtual! We hope you can make it! https://t.co/HZYcugShod #funimationcon2020 pic.twitter.com/9MRpEIcoAL

The description for the event on Funimation’s official site reads:
We’ve always wanted our very own convention. Now, it’s time. And it’ll be even better than we imagined, because the entire thing will be virtual! That’s right. No more long lines in the heat, no more overpriced hotel food, and best of all, you’re 100% in control of everything you smell.
This is the pinnacle of anime conventions. Oh yeah, and it’s free. Get ready for Friday and Saturday, July 3-4, for a two-day streaming event of your anime dreams.
Attendees of FunimationCon will be able to participate in industry panels, Q&A’s featuring guest voice actors, live-reads, cosplay meetups, and cosplay contests.
Stay tuned for future announcements and news regarding FunimationCon 2020.
