Greetings and salutations, fellow Fridge Nukers! Bradfield here, reporting from the Citadel on Coruscant.
Let the hype and speculation begin! Hitting the ‘Net hard today is news of the first trailer for J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens dropping.
…sadly, it’s just another fan trailer, one of the all too prevalent fake-outs clogging the Star Wars information pipe. [Any movie, really.] Sure, at the end of the day, these fan edited trailers are more or less harmless. Still, for fans who prefer real news, and those of us reporting on pop culture, they’re a real pain in the ***.
While not the official trailer (which is supposed to be about a minute), you do get a good look at Han Solo and Luke Skywalker in their new looks (played respectively by Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill), though the brief scene with Luke looks more like a camera pushing on a still picture, as well as some new characters and set pieces, but not a lot of action – let alone even the slightest hint of what the plot might actually be. One of Yoda’s speeches from The Empire Strikes Back is used as a voiceover. If it were real, it wouldn’t be a bad teaser.
Still, we’d rather be posting news of the actual trailer, instead of yet another fan fake-out. So, Disney… li’l help?
And of course, check Nuke the Fridge early and often for the latest breaking Episode 7 news.
