During the 2nd leg of the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fest in Paris, Square Enix revealed a lot more details about their upcoming expansion to the popular MMORPG titled: Shadowbringers.
A Deeper Look
During one of the panels during the festival fans were treated to a extended version of the Shadowbringers trailer originally released back in November of last year:
The trailer is fairly the same including some extended spots including a moment with Y’shtola(although being addressed as Master Montoya)being asked if the two of them should defy fate while a burning world is crumbling around them. The second extended scene is a more in depth look at the Gunbreaker class.
Viera Joins The Battle
Included with the next expansion is the much anticipated return of the Viera race. Originally from Final Fantasy XII, the Viera were originally planned for the Heavensward expansion although no update came about from it. A concept of their look in the upcoming expansion via a tweet from the official page shows their potential design:
Also announced during the festival is the inclusion of a special alliance raid called YoRHa: A Dark Apocalypse from the minds of Yosuke Saito and YOKO TARO, producers of the critically acclaimed title Nier: Automata. Previous alliance raids included crossovers with Final Fantasy XV and Monster Hunter.
