EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert 4K UHD Review

When Baz Luhrmann restored archival Elvis Presley footage for EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert, it was worth seeing in IMAX. The ‘70s footage held up on a giant screen. But, now that it’s time for EPiC to come home, it’s still epic in 4K.

The 4K UHD still preserves all the aspect ratio changes. Some fill the screen like they did in IMAX. Some stretch wide which is still vast in the middle of your screen. The color and grain quality changes between 8mm home videos, 16mm backstage and concert footage and that’s also a historical record of capturing the era.

The lights of Vegas glow bright in 4K but most of the footage is the concert performance. Those deep shadows in the venue only further emphasize that Elvis could hold the stage alone with no backdrops or fancy thrills. Just let the man perform and focus on him.

The full music acoustics fill the room too. You really get an Elvis concert in your house.
