Emily Kinney was a regular on AMC’s hit horror-drama The Walking Dead for three and one half seasons until her character Beth Greene’s recent untimely death. Laying low is not on Kinney’s agenda anytime soon. The actress-singer will be playing a villain with a gender bender twist on The Flash.
Enter DC Comics’ Bug-Eyed Bandit, a male nemesis of micro-superhero The Atom. Kinney will take the lead as the villain in Episode 18, “All-Star Team-Up,” as Brie Larvan. A female variant of DC’s Bertram Larvan who was an inventor that designed a mechanical insect to control insect pests. Unfortunately, he had no financial backing to support his invention. He resolved to steal money he needed for his invention. He later used his invention to steal more. Soon, he had an army of mechanical insects. Two of his many insects were stag beetles who could bite through steel and spiders with webs that could support the weight of a man. Bertram took the name of the Bug-Eyed Bandit.
The Flash episode will feature Arrow‘s Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) a.k.a. The Atom and Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) visiting Central City in order to get help with Palmer’s A.T.O.M. exosuit.
Brie is described as a narcissistic tech wizard wreaking havoc in Central City. Upon arriving in town, Felicity recognizes Brie as her nemesis, and the two women engage in a hacker battle for The Flash’s life.
