Elio is now the most underrated Pixar movie. The story of a lonely boy’s adventure in space should’ve been a slam dunk. Hopefully, people will discover it now.
Pixar always looks great in 4K and it has been a joy revisiting their classics in the new format. But Elio’s outer space and diverse aliens make another wonderful palette.
One of the more clever bonus features is letting the child voice actors interview real astronauts. It’s both informative and relevant. Pointing out all the Easter eggs is also helpful. I didn’t catch them all myself.
Deleted scenes include some fully finished animation. Even the rougher ones show endearing scenes even if they didn’t make the cut.
