Last month, Nuke the Fridge announced that Warner Bros. Studios pulled out of financing the long awaited Farrelly brothers sequel “Dumb and Dumber To.” Without hesitating, Universal Pictures stepped in along with Red Granite Pictures to back the Jim Carrey/Jeff Daniels $35 million comedy. Actor Jeff Daniels announced on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” that production on the feature would begin sometime in September. This is what Daniels had to say.
“I’ll believe it’s happening when I’m there, staring at Jim Carrey, but it looks like we’re starting in September. Everybody is back, Jim in particular. It’s going to be so great to be with Jim Carrey again. He’s one of the best we’ve got. It will be the 20th Anniversary of the first one next year. I’ve seen the script. It’s hysterical. We’re middle-aged, we’re not pretending we aren’t. We’re middle-aged and we’re still that stupid.”
Here is the storyline for the film.
Lloyd Christmas (Jim Carrey) and Harry Dunne (Jeff Daniels,) hit the road once again in search of an illegitimate child that one of them may have fathered in the hope of gaining a new kidney.
“Dumb and Dumber To” is scheduled to begin production in September. The film stars Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels. Sean Anders and John Morris wrote the script, while Peter Farrelly and Bobby Farrelly direct.
