My Thoughts

I give the Drag Me To Hell: Collector’s Edition Blu-ray a B+.

I love this film when it was first released in 2009.  Now 9 years later, I actually think I enjoyed this film more.  If you’re a fan of the Evil Dead or Ash VS Evil Dead, you will definitely want to see this, if you haven’t done so already.  You do have two options on which cut you can watch: the Theatrical Version or the Unrated Version.

The Evil Dead definitely has a presence in this film.  The demons look like Deadites, Mrs. Ganush’s car is the Oldsmobile that Ash drives, and even the wind going through the trees or Christine Brown’s (played by Alison Lohman) hair reminded me of the Evil Dead. The only thing we were missing was cameo from Bruce Campbell!

Hands down my favorite scene is actually toward the beginning of the film.  It is where Mrs. Ganush (Lorna Raver) confronts Christine Brown (Lohman) in the parking garage.  Its so Evil Dead-ish with the comical side of horror but also keeps you on the edge of your seat.  No matter how many times I see that scene, it catches my attention every time.

This Blu-ray is so much fun to watch and don’t forget to check out the Special Features!

Catch the Drag Me To Hell: Collector’s Edition out on Blu-ray February 13, 2018!
