Drag Me to Hell 4K UHD Review: 4Klosure

I got Drag Me To Hell after it came out around Halloween but still in time to review it before Christmas. Sam Raimi’s last full horror movie, though he certainly included elements in Doctor Strange, remains a hoot, relentlessly escalating the torture of a protagonist who kind of deserves it for approving a foreclosure for a promotion.

On 4K UHD, it is a fairly standard modern looking movie. Part of the fun is seeing Evil Dead stuff in that milieu. The film gradually descends into darkness, a turning point being the seance with the cemetery finale being the biggest showcase for high dynamic range.

Drag Me to Hell is a strong surround sound movie too. The spirits roar behind you like deadites, cackling around the room. When they shake stuff, the whole room shakes.

Scream Factors included a full two-hour new documentary. Alison Lohman is presented via archival footage but they got a lot of new interviews and holdovers from the previous two releases.
